The first practice of the 2009-10 season officially starts Tuesday October 13. Registrations have already taken place and returning team members are to have completed forms and payment when they arrive to practice. New team members will need to register in advance of practice.

London-Western will operate its first “all-you-can-eat” Steak & Lobsterfest dinner in June 2010. This will be a fund raising activity for the club and is modelled after Team Impact W.C.’s Lobsterfest as a successful fund-raiser.

The aim of the fund raising dinner is to generate additional funds to assist and provide further competitive opportunities and events for our membership. This past season, London-Western, a not-for-profit community club, was well represented at the local, provincial and national level. We also had several team members qualify for international events which included travel to India, Japan, China, Germany, Romania, Nicaragua, Turkey and Iran.

Olivia Gunnell will compete at the Junior Pan American Wrestling Championships, October 23-25/09. Olivia will compete in the 55 kg women’s division scheduled to compete Oct. 24. Olivia placed 5th in the Junior World Championships last year (2008) held in Istanbul. She currently is attending Fanshawe College.
Parent registration for London-Western’s Age-Group Program will take place Monday September 28, 2009. This registration is for the 2009-10 season. Practices will begin Tuesday October 13 at 6:30 -8:00 pm.

London-Western’s Age-Group practices, which includes elementary and high school age team members, will start after Thanksgiving. Details will be available after the Board meets during the week of September 14. Likely, the schedule will remain the same as last year with practices held Tuesday and Thursdays starting 6:30 pm.
