Five London-Western team members were awarded Ontario Cards by the OAWA for 09-10.
There will be no practice on Thursday Oct 22 due to Fall Convocation at Western. The wrestling room will be unavailable on Thursday and Friday Oct 22, 23.
Regular practices resume Oct 27 6:30 pm. Tuesday & Thursday’s.
London-Western has a new logo that will be used effective immediately. The logo shows the red maple leaf indicating national and international representation of London-Western with an illustration of two wrestlers as the stem of the leaf. The purple mustang horse in the middle of the leaf shows the affiliation with the University of Western Ontario mustangs wrestling team.
Previous logos are still to be worn by membership if they choose.
London-Western wrestlers are ready to compete at the U of Toronto Open, October 18. Many will represent the mustangs at this university level tournament which is open for wrestlers over 18 years of age.
Olivia Gunnell will depart Oct 21 for the Junior Pan American Championships held in Guadalajara (MEX) as part of the National women’s junior team. Olivia will compete October 24 in the 55 kg division.
Women team members, Brianne Barry, Jennifer Nguyen and Liz Sera will compete at the Sunkist Open Tournament, October 24 in Phoenix, Arizona.
