Steven Takahashi will compete in the Commonwealth Youth Championships in Singapore, Jan 6-8, 2010. The Catholic Central HS student will depart January 4, 2010 with other 2009 FILA Cadet Trials’ winners. Takahashi won gold in the Juvenile and Junior National Championships in 2009. London-Western coach, Dave Spinney will also be part of the coaching staff.

Singapore will host the first Olympic Youth Games, August 14-26, 2010. The Singapore Wrestling Federation recently hired wrestling legend, Sergei Beloglasov to coach and oversee their wrestling preparation and development as they lead into the Games. Currently, the Singaporean wrestling team, along with Beloglasov are training in Japan at Kokushikan University (head coach, Toshio Asakura) and Nihon University (head coach, Hideaki Tomiyama).
Age Group practices will be off-campus at CCH (Catholic Central HS) upper small gym on Thu Dec 10 and Dec 17. 6:30-8:00 pm. At this point, Tuesday Dec 15 practice is to be announced due to facility conflict.
Practices will be held off-campus during Dec 10-17 due to university examinations.
Practices to resume at Western, January 5, 2010.
