Pan Am bronze — 5th place!

Pan American Championships MEX July 17/14.

Steven Takahashi won bronze and Riley Otto placed 5th at the Pan American Championships in Mexico City July 17.  Takahashi went 3-1 win-loss in the 57 kg division,  losing to eventual winner, Zach Sanders USA 6-11 in the semi-final match.  Takahashi defeated 2013 silver medalist and Pan Am Games champion, Beltre Ramirez DOM  in a tough opening match 7-6.  He recorded two other wins in the 19 country 57 kg bracket including a 9-1 victory vs. ECU and a 10-0 victory over PUR for the bronze.

Riley Otto placed 5th in the 86 kg division defeating Juan Esteban Martinez COL 5-3.  He lost a close bronze medal match vs.  Ambrocio PER 3-6 and lost his opening match against eventual winner Reineris Salas CUB who is a two-time past world medalist.
