Otto & Takahashi to compete at Pan Ams

Canada is sending 14 wrestlers to the 2013 FILA Pan-American Championships. The women’s competition will be held on Saturday April 6 while the Men’s tournament also will feature seven wrestlers who will compete for Canada, on Sunday April 7. Canada is sending a young team that is eager compete and has shown significant talent in recent years.

Two London wrestlers will compete —  Steven Takahashi, who won bronze at both Pan-American Championships and Pan-American Games, will be in action in the 55kg tournament. Takahashi won gold medals at the 2008 Pan-American Championships as a Cadet, and a gold medal at the Commonwealth Championships in 2010 as a Junior. Riley Otto, the 2010 Junior Commonwealth Championships gold medallist, will be wrestling for the first time in the senior level at an international FILA competition.
