Western Open Wrestling Tournament

The Mustangs will host the Western Open this week-end in Thames Hall Gymnasium.  All OUA teams are expected to participate along with several clubs and out-of-province teams.  The event will feature varsity-senior level wrestling and is an Open event.  All participants must be a member of a CIS institution or club recognized by their provincial or state wrestling association.

This year’s event will feature wrestlers from the Jamaican National team coached by Kevin Wallen who is also President of the Jamaica Wrestling Federation.

“It will be a good tournament with some international flavor,” says coach Ray Takahashi.  “We are also expecting a women’s team from the U.S. based out to Massachussetts.”  Wrestling starts at 9:30 am and continues throughout the day.
