Steffler Wins Gold at Brock Open

The Western wrestling team traveled to St. Catharines on Saturday to compete at the Brock Open. It was the first meet of the second half of their season.  The Mustangs were led by 59kg wrestler Julie Steffler who captured gold for the second tournament in a row. Julie had a record of 4-0 (wins – losses) and beat all four of her opponents by pin. Julie missed all of last season while she recovered from her second ACL surgery. Jennifer Nwamadi captured a silver medal at 82kg. Next up for the team is the Guelph Open on Sunday January 20th.
