MacFayden and Coles both competed in the 65kg division and Thomson wrestled in the 74kg weight class. All three wrestlers competed hard and gained valuable international experience but were unable to win a match. Coles and Thomson are both still Juniors. Steven, competing at 57kg, won two matches before losing in the finals to Anatolii Buruian of Moldova. Buruian was the 2011 Junior World Bronze Medallist. On his way to the finals Takahashi had an opening round bye, then beat Julian Tagg of the USA 10-0. In the semi finals Takahashi beat last years Canadian National Champion Darthe Capellan 8-7.
