Five Juniors make National Team

Five members of London-Western were named to the 2011 Junior National Team

• Brianne Barry (55 FW)
• Larissa D’Alleva (63 FW)
• Steven Takahashi (55 FS)
• Richard Balfour (60 FS)
• Ilya Abelev (66 FS)

Incoming mustang recruit, Richard Balfour is named to the Junior B team and will compete in the Junior Pan American Championships in Sao Paulo (BRA) July 1-3.    

Larissa and Brianne were named to the Junior National Women’s team.  Brianne returns as a National team member, where she had an outstanding 5th place finish at last year’s Junior World Championships.  It will be Larissa’s first time on the Junior team, but had previously placed 3rd at the 2008 FILA Cadet Pan American Championships (El Salvador), as did Brianne. 

Steven returns as a member of the Junior Team, last year placing 2nd at the 2010 Junior Pan American championships (NIC).  Ilya was a member of the U18 National Program in 2010 and his first time as Junior National team member. 

Larissa, Brianne, Ilya and Steven will depart early May to compete in two Junior International tournaments in Romania (May 6-8) and Turkey (May 13-15).
